Fear Platinum 3 [Tiger Update] UPDATE
10.8.05

Even though this theme is meant to stray from perfection, we have made another attempt at getting slightly closer, to perfection... I actually have no idea what this update includes so I have just replaced the old file with a new one on the server and kinda typed this while drinking my coffee and finding maps to the Olive Garden in Columbus... Why am I saying this? Who cares? Download the file again, and hopefully it will be noticeably better than the last Tiger update file... I'm hitting the road!

Oh, one other thing... Thanks to everyone that still uses this theme, especially during this wonderful time of the year. Put blood capsules in your mouth and kiss someone special for me!

4 Months to the Day? WOW!
9.1.05

So now that Tiger has been out for a few months now, the unpopular Fear Platinum 3, has finally gotten some much unnecessary attention to make it moderately compatible with this new version of Mac OS. While I did nothing but complain about how unworthy this theme was to see another revision, two really devoted people (Alex and Camille) spent a few nights here and there desaturating the crap out of toolbars and touching things up here and there all for you. Now, finally its been okay'd so come and get it!

Zero Progress, and Yet Gigs of It...
5.1.05

Sorry, I don't actually have anything new to release at the moment, but the good news is, I am now the proud owner of a PowerMac running Tiger. At a modest Dual 2.0 ghz, it manages to make my "all american" eMac (700 mhz) look SLOW.

So I can efficiently work my way through the new Mac OS, and figure out what needs to be done to update Fear Platinum accordingly.

Also I must say, the Migration Assistant came through without a hitch. It completely ruined the experience of buying a new computer. I didn't get to start from scratch, and since everything copied over exactly the same (minus a few system hacks that I really should have never installed in the first place) It felt like my eMac simply went through a complete brain transplant, to the physique of an olympic body builder. I have no idea why I miss the whole "fresh start" scenario, where you have to tediously go through and reset all of your preferences. At least I was up and running in a few hours.

The only thing I had a HORRIBLE experience with is the fact that the Logitech driver for my MX1000, won't acknowledge the fact that the damn thing is connected to my computer. The OS supported buttons all work flawlessly, but all the spiffy programable buttons are dead in the water... I hope I'm not the only one having this trouble and the remedy is close at hand. If I am forced to use this Apple mouse for much longer, I might break down and actually start to like it again...

So if you are thinking Apple has dropped the ball, and left us hanging with a shitty PowerMac update, then do the rest of the PowerMac owners out there a favor, and admit you just have PowerMac envy, and wanted to buy a spankin new 3.0 ghz tower so you could thumb your nose at all the "poor" fools who have had their G5 for two years. It seems like there are way too many idiots that are simply looking for "im better than you" bragging rights so they can use their retarded excess cash to buy something they will only use to surf the net and play Doom 3 on. If that is why you wanted 3 ghz, let me be the one to tell you, you could spend 1/10th of the money for an xbox. However it would totally redeem you, if you go out and buy one of these sweet pieces of industrial equipment, to actually better the world by using it for something productive. Your decision to make.

More Smith
4.9.05

Nathan Smith is now freshly made available on the Windows platform chat client Miranda Im. Click the image below for more on that.

As for Fear Platinum 3 and the imminent release of Mac OS 10.4, I will be updating the theme as soon as possible. Wish me luck, as I have no DVD rom.. Thanks Apple! They need to pinch off a new G5 so I can replace my 3 year old eMac with something that isn't 4 year old technology.. As cool as my quivering cursor animation is, I'm getting really tired of seeing it whenever I do ANYTHING! Not to mention buying a G5 right now with a few hard earned American dollars is completely retarded, and Apple doesn't seem to care enough to even drop the prices a little... All I can say, is that this 2 year wait better be worth it!

I have also been working closely with the highly productive folks at MacThemes.net on some semi secret stuff for Tiger, all of which goes completely against my better judgment, being that it is very happy looking and non-depressing.. So more people might actually use it, which is a scary thought! Scary thoughts are always welcome though, and change can be refreshing, so wait to see what shiny new stuff I plop down on this already horribly pretty standard Mac-Aqua interface.

New Year, New Stuff
1.1.05
Happy New Year! I've made a few requested items. A few people wanted a more appropriate Finder icon to replace the Cow-Dog from "Puft"... So decapitated Nathan Smith to bring you something something morbid.

Also the FU Shield logo has been refashioned to make a pretty nifty set of icons.
